A residence card for students — legalisation through studies in Poland
A residence card for a student in Poland — a temporary residence permit on the basis of full-time studies (studia) at a Polish university. It confirms lawful stay for the period of study.
From 27 April 2026 the application is filed via MOS only (mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl). The university signs the appendix electronically; paper filing at the office is no longer accepted.
We will help you assemble the documents, go through MOS together with the university and accompany you to the fingerprint appointment — so that you study, not correspond with the office.
Consultation on a student residence permit
We will save you time and take the difficult parts on ourselves.
We will review the documents and propose the best option for your situation.
If we cannot deliver the service, we will refund you or file again at our own cost.
The process of obtaining a student residence card in Poland
We handle a residence card for studies through MOS: without booking a queue at the office.
How we run the process:
We will draw up a list and help collect the documents: passport, a digital photo, housing, insurance, funds to live on. We will connect MOS — Profil Zaufany or an electronic signature.
We will help the university fill in and sign confirmation of studies electronically in MOS. Without that signature the application cannot be submitted.
We will file the application in MOS and we will check payment of the fee. Then we will accompany the appointment: fingerprints and the passport.
We handle the case while it is under review: office requests, sending extra documents through MOS or e-Doręczenia.
If the decision is positive we will help you collect the residence card. Waiting time depends on the voivodeship.
Review usually takes from 3 to 9 months, sometimes longer. We accompany filing in MOS, the university appendix and the biometrics appointment, to reduce the risk of mistakes and refusal.
What documents are needed to obtain a residence card on the basis of studies?
We will say what to upload to MOS and check the pack. Usually you need:
- an application filled in in the MOS portal;
- digital copies of the passport (the original is shown at the appointment);
- a current photo in digital format;
- confirmation of studies: the university signs the appendix electronically in MOS (zaświadczenie z uczelni);
- proof of funds to live on — not below the minimum published by the government;
- medical insurance;
- proof of housing (a rental agreement and the like);
- payment of the fee and the card charge — electronic payment confirmation.

Advantages of obtaining a residence card for studies
A student residence permit gives lawful stay for the period of study and a number of opportunities:
Studies: Polish universities offer programmes in Polish and English, including in STEM.
Work: with a student residence permit it is often possible to work; the conditions depend on the type of studies and the contract. Check the current limits before taking a job.
Travel: with a residence card — visa-free in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in six months, without the right to work there.
After studies: you can obtain stay to look for work, and then a work residence permit — if there is a ground.
Healthcare: you need valid insurance (NFZ or a policy). A residence permit itself does not replace insurance.
Language: a university diploma with tuition in Polish may meet the language-exam requirement for an EU resident card — if the other conditions are met.
