It is a separate status under EU rules: the permit itself is granted for an indefinite term, but the physical card is replaced every 5 years. Exchanging the card is not obtaining the status again.<\/p><p>From 27 April 2026 the application is filed <b>via MOS only<\/b> (<a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl\">mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl<\/a>). Compared with a temporary residence permit this is a more stable status; when moving to another EU country the conditions are usually simpler than with an ordinary residence card \u2014 we will go through the details at the consultation.<\/p><p>After several years of living in Poland in this status you can often apply for citizenship (a rough guide is <b>about 3 years<\/b> as an EU resident, plus the language and other conditions).
